Objective
Modern slavery is a heinous crime and a morally reprehensible act that deprives a person's liberty and dignity for another person's gain. It is a real problem for millions of people around the world. Every company is at risk of being involved in this crime through its own operations and its supply chain.
At Zifo and its affiliates operating in the jurisdictions as detailed on our website, we have a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and are fully committed to preventing slavery and human trafficking in our operation and supply chain. We have taken steps to tackle modern slavery, as outlined in our statement.
This statement sets out the actions that we have taken to understand all potential modern slavery risks related to our business, and to implement steps to prevent slavery and human trafficking during the financial year 2024/25.
This statement is published in line with:
Section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
Article 5 of the European Union agency for Fundamental Rights “Slavery / Forced Labour”.
About Zifo
We are a global specialist scientific and process informatics service provider working across research, development, manufacturing and clinical domains with expertise in over 90 partner technologies and platforms. We serve customers from Pharma/Biotech/CRO, Industrial chemicals and Food & Bev, to Consumer Goods and Oil and Gas.
Our Supply Chain
Purchase of Physical Goods Zifo does not require raw materials or purchase goods. Should we purchase from a supplier then we carry out due diligence to ensure compliance with our own standards and the respective national and international laws.
Purchase of Services Our subcontracting people needs are for highly scientific and motivated personnel. We use a very small number of subcontracting companies and we know each supplier well. As we onboard new suppliers we check their risk level and compliance with our standards and the law. We will never use a supplier where there is a risk of non-compliance.
Our other needs include travel and accommodation, legal and financial advisory services. These are purchased from reputable companies which have a very low risk of non-compliance.
At no time will Zifo enter into any agreement or contract with an organization where this is a likelihood that there is non-compliance with the law or this Statement.
Policies and Training
Zifo operates the following policies and training for identifying and preventing slavery and human trafficking in our operations:
Whistleblowing Policy - we encourage all employees, customers and suppliers to report any suspicion of slavery or human trafficking without fear of retaliation.
Ikikata - our code of conduct / values encourages employees to do the right thing by clearly stating the actions and behaviour expected of them when representing the business. We strive to maintain the highest standards of employee conduct and ethical behaviour when operating abroad and managing our supply chain.
Statement Acknowledgement – all our people sign to say they have read and agree to this statement.
Training - we offer e-learning courses to all employees throughout Zifo Technologies which covers various forms of modern slavery and human trafficking.
Embedding our ways
By providing awareness training to our people and informing them of the appropriate action to take if they suspect a case of slavery or human trafficking we will achieve our objective.
We continually ensure anyone involved in procurement activity are aware of and follow modern slavery procurement guidance set out in their country.
Continuing to take action to embed a zero tolerance policy towards modern slavery.
Our Promise
As an equal opportunities employer, we strive to create a non-discriminatory and respectful working environment for our people. Our Ikikata include creating a “Zafe Team” with Integrity. We empower our people to expose wrongdoing without any risk to themselves.
Our recruitment and people management processes are designed to ensure that all prospective employees are legally entitled to work in the UK and other Country in which we operate and to safeguard our people from any abuse or coercion.
We will not enter into business with any organisation, in the UK or abroad, which knowingly supports or is found to be involved in slavery, servitude and forced or compulsory labour.
