Title: Data continuity in the connected lab – addressing data orchestration challenges in complex multi-stage experiments

Abstract:
Data continuity in the lab implies an uninterrupted automated flow of data from the lab instruments – the data generators – to data consumers – scientists, lab technicians, or AI/ML algorithms. Beyond the (obvious) complexity of managing instrument connections and standardizing file formats, lab data automation has to deal with two major challenges: orchestrating the dataflow across complex experimental workflows and ensuring that all relevant metadata gets captured and synchronized across often disconnected applications and datastores. After discussing our data architecture approach, we will review various applications of our framework, including cell culture, assay, and aPCR workflows.
